Hancock County Domestic Relations Court

The Hancock County Domestic Relations Court is exploring the establishment of a settlement week. We are compiling a list of eligible mediators. Under Sup.R. 6.04, there are specific qualifications required to serve as a mediator in Domestic Relations matters (reference link for full rules):

  • Complete Fundamentals of Mediation Training pursuant to Sup.R. 6.04(A)(1) or provide satisfactory evidence that the exceptions under 6.04(A)(2) apply.
  • Possess a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent educational experience as is satisfactory to the court, and at least two years of professional experience with families, including counseling, casework, legal representation in family law matters, or such other equivalent experience satisfactory to the court;
  • Complete “Specialized Family or Divorce Mediation Training” approved by the Supreme Court Dispute Resolution Section.
  • Complete “Specialized Domestic Abuse Issues and Mediation Training” approved by the Supreme Court Dispute Resolution Section.

Dates for upcoming trainings are posted here. All trainings are online and are FREE.
